Charter Communications has agreed to buy media big Time Warner Cable in a deal which values the company at $78.7bn (£52bn).
In December 2008, three television stations which were owned by Belo Company previous to its acquisition by Gannett in 2014 (WFAA-TELEVISION, WCNC-TV, and KMOV-TV) reported that beginning January 1, 2009, Constitution Communications would not carry these stations on account of a breakdown in negotiations. Charter Communications rapidly replied that a resolution to the difficulty was not out of the query. The cable operator would have lost access to all the stations owned by Belo.
