The Development of Photography
Photography is a wide and general term in the world of today. There have been more than enough reasons why people should take photographs in almost all the stages of life. People take photographs on a daily basis if not almost everywhere they go. Photography has grown tremendously over the years in terms of market. You should know that photography is basically the making of images. The two methods involved in making these images is either chemical or electronic. Electromagnet and chemical methods use light sensors and photography films respectively to make images. This basically explains the process of making images in photography.
Since the invention of photography in the early 1800’s there has been an improvement in photography industry. In this time; the ordinary camera was invented. In the 1990’s, the digital camera began to have its way in most of the world. From 2000 onwards, the mobile industry began to storm their phones with the popular back camera for everyday photography. Photography has become a hand thing since then. It is normal to find people in different places taking photographs like for example in the streets just by using their phone.
Photography using the ordinary film cameras made images using the chemical means. The ordinary cameras had one very important part known as the film. The film was made to be light sensitive so that exposure to direct sunlight would damage it. To prevent this, the film was fitted and rolled inside a cylindrical, light proof tin made of plastic. It was never hard task to operate the ordinary film camera. With a ready image you are only required to press the capture button. The button is connected to the shutter speed and when pressed it opens to let in a given amount of light. Which therefore makes the chemicals in the film to react causing the image in front of the camera to be saved. Afterwards take the film to the next process where given chemicals are added to turn it to negatives. The last process of producing the photos is done after you chose on your wish of shapes and sizes.
With increased technology, most of the digital cameras have been built to appear as the old cameras but function differently. As compared to ordinary film cameras, digital cameras do not have films. Electromagnetic radiators has replaced the function of films in digital cameras. In the absence of a film, the digital camera has a piece of electromagnetic equipment that captures the light turning them into electronic signals. All the parts that make up a digital camera have an important function in making images.
Photography has been very important to the world of today. Photographs help us to remember all that is important to us in one way or the other. Social media communication has been made better as people can easily share their photos. Job opportunities have been created with photography all over the world.
